Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born in Karachi on 25 December 1876. His father's name was Jinnah Poonja and his mother's name was Mithibai.

He was the founder of Pakistan. That's why he was rewarded with the title "Quaid-e-Azam" meaning "Great Leader" and Baba-i-Qaum meaning "Father of Nation".  He was a renowned barrister and politician.  

He fought the British to give independence to Pakistan. He wanted to create a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. He was also a leader of the All-India Muslim League. 

He became the first governor-general of Pakistan. However, he soon died after independence on 11 September 1948. He was buried in Karachi in Mazar-e-Quaid.
